* 미국 인턴쉽 이란?

미국 인턴쉽은 미국 국무부 (Department of State) 에서 관할하는 국제 문화와 기술의 교류, 인재 육성을 목적으로 하는 Exchange Visitor Program (문화교류방문 프로그램) 으로, 미국 내 기업에서 J-1 비자(문화교류비자)를 받고 1개월 ~ 12개월 동안 현지 회사에서 본인의 전공 분야에 관련한 실전 업무를 경험하고 참가해 보는 프로그램 이다. 인턴쉽 프로그램은 참가지원자의 나이, 전공, 경력, 영어실력에 따라 다양한 인턴쉽 프로그램이 있다.

For Internship USA, the basic eligibility criteria are as follows;

Applicants must be students enrolled on a full time basis at a nationally accredited post-secondary institution or recent graduates within 12 months of graduation. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to function in a business settings. The applicant’s academic program / course of study must be at least one year in duration and result in some form of degree, qualification, certification, etc.

Proposed training program must demonstrate a correlation to the application’s program of study of degree area.

If the the applicant has previously participated in an Internship USA program they must show that desired training is not duplicated of previous training or work experience.



* 미국 Professional Career Training (PCT) 란?

또한 미국 인턴쉽은 미국 내 기업에서 J-1비자, 즉 문화교류 비자를 받고 1개월 ~ 18개월 동안 현지 회사에서 본인의 전공 또는 직장 분야에 관련한 실전 업무를 경험하고 참가해 보는 프로그램으로, 직장인이 미국에서 단기 또는 장기간 연수를 원할 경우 지원자는 Professional Career Training (PCT) 프로그램에 지원하여야 한다. 초, 중, 고 선생님 장기연수프로그램의 일환으로 미국 공립학교에 연수하는 경우도 이 프로그램 속할 수 있다.

For Professional Career Training USA, the eligibility criteria are as follows;

Trainees must either be graduates of foreign post-secondary institutions with one year of work experience outside the US related to their field of their training, or have five years of relevant work experience outside of the US. Applicant must have graduated from secondary school. Applicants should be between the ages of 20 and 40. Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to fucntion in a business setting.

If the applicant have previously participated in a PCT program they must show that desired training is not duplicated of previous training or work experience. All PCT participants must observe a 2-year hiatus in their home-country before returning on another PCT program.
