Squeaky Bicycle Productions seeks an intern to manage their March & April 2017 production being performed at Theater for The New City. Applicants must be current students, preferably seeking a degree within theatre arts, or international arts practitioners seeking to fulfill visa requirements. Studentapplicants must be eligible for college credit for this internship. The Stage Manager internship will receive hands-on training and gain insightful experience in working with a small theatre company in New York City. This internship will work closely with the producer/director of the show, working remotely as well as on-site. This will be a very hands-on internship with a great deal of responsibility - an extremely valuable experience for a motivated and proactive artist willing to take on the challenge.
Duties for the internship will include
Attending and scheduling rehearsals, performances, and staff/production meetings,
Managing rehearsal and production operations;
Light and sound board operation or backstage crew during performances,
Additional related duties include assistance with production needs (set, lighting, sound, costumes, props) leading through all scheduled performances, and other general assistance as needed.
The hours and duration of the internship are flexible, and will vary depending on final production schedule. Internship will begin as early as January 16th (start date negotiable; likely end date May 28).
