The International Forensic Program (‘IFP’) is seeking an intern for a minimum of 20 hours/week to work with the Afghanistan Program Coordinator. The intern will assist with a range of tasks related primarily to the IFP’s work with our partner organization in Afghanistan, the Afghanistan Forensic Science Organization (‘AFSO’). This internship is an opportunity to gain professional skills in forensics capacity building, research, human resources development, communication and an invaluable experience interacting with professionals who are using forensic science to document human rights abuses


업무내용

• A forensic science/forensic anthropology background to assist AFSO members with provision of forensic materials as needed.
• Assisting with the production of factsheets on various disciplines of forensic science to be used by AFSO in Afghanistan.
• Assisting AFSO with the development of their newly designed and soon to be launched website.
• Assisting AFSO with the development of a social media presence.
• Editorial tasks such as editing reports, fact checking and referencing.
• Research on areas of interest to IFP including new developments in forensic science, human identifications, forensic capacity building, use of technology to document human rights violations etc.
• Assist with logistics and preparation for trainings, conferences and other IFP events.


요구사항

• Currently studying or have completed an undergraduate or graduate program of study in forensic anthropology, forensic science or related discipline.
• Dari, Farsi and/or Pashto language skills is an asset.
• Strong interest and commitment to human rights.
• Excellent research skills.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Location/Hours

• The IFP intern will be based in PHR’s New York City Office.
• This unpaid internship will require a minimum of 20 hours/week during the semester. PHR staff will assist with any paperwork required for institutional credit or external scholarships/fellowships.
• The position will require at least a 3-month commitment, with longer commitments preferred.
