Novelty New York is the textiles agency that handles business in the US market located in New York Garment District.

Please review a general description of duties and work assignment during
the internship:

Novelty New York is an Fabrics Representation Agency, working
with manufacturers of fabrics from Overseas (Italy, Europe,
Korea, mainly) and the most influential fashion designers in the U.S.

General objective of the internship

The internship allows the intern to acquire knowledge on the
following topics:

- fabrics/textile production techniques and differences among the various types

- style, fashion trends in the fabric collections

- style, fashion trends in the garment production

- meet some of the most important designers in the USA and acquire
knowledge about the market in terms of prices for fabrics general accepted by the market and by each
designer/company.

- style/qualities of fabrics general accepted by the market and by
each designer/company

- services required by fabric manufacturers and representation general
accepted by the market and by each designer/company, etc.

Tasks to be assigned to student-trainee The internship consists of
presenting collections, with the support of the company’s sales
department, to U.S. designers, follow their requests and forward them
to the proper mill overseas. E-mail correspondence with supplier and designer.
Handle paper work such as purchase orders, order confirmation, proforma invoices and shipping invoices to complete the orders. Paper work archive and handle database.


Get samples and information from the designers in order to source the
product on their behalf.

Get information and samples from the manufacturers overseas, filter
them and provide them to designers/customers with the purpose of
getting the fabrics adopted in their lines.

Follow the requirements of the customers with the manufacturers
overseas in order to get the information, documents, etc.

credit opening, etc. from the customers, etc.
