Summer Mission Intern - Construction Coordinator (건설)
Alabama Rural Ministry
상세설명
Are you looking for a meaningful summer mission opportunity where you can experience and share Christ’s love in service to others? We are seeking young adult Christians with a heart to serve with families and children who are living in some of Alabama’s most materially-poor rural communities. These young adults will also host, lead, and disciple middle and high school mission teams who serve with ARM throughout the summer.
Be forewarned: the work is demanding; the hours are long; time off is rare. Where’s the reward? God will transform you like never before!
• You’ll be invited deeper into a life of compassionate service and radical hospitality.
• You’ll serve with incredible people who are passionate about seeking God’s kingdom, while you share this passion with middle & high school students who are eager to serve with you.
• You’ll experience the joy of Christian community as you get to know new friends who may be very different from yourself.
• God will challenge you and sustain you as you see and serve others through the eyes and love of Christ!
Does this resonate in your heart? Do you want to be a missionary in rural Alabama this summer? If so, we ask you to prayerfully consider joining our team.
As a member of ARM's summer ministry team, you will create a Christian mission camp experience for middle/high school student teams throughout the summer. This experience involves hands-on ministry through home repair and kids day camp, daily Bible studies, nightly worship services, and free time having fun and building relationships with our mission teams and among your summer ministry team.
The work is physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually demanding. You will be working approximately 15-16 hours a day. Time off is only available on specific weekend days.
You’ll be expected to live out values of hospitality, compassion, and Christlike service. You'll work together with your fellow summer ministry team members to maintain your mission sites and to coordinate the daily/weekly flow of ministry activities. You’ll work and pray together closely to form a supportive, encouraging Christian community. You'll be expected to portray Christ at all times and to serve in a leadership role as create, plan, and implement devotions and worship services for our mission teams. You’ll also be responsible for keeping your facilities are safe, clean, friendly and Christ-centered.
All summer ministry team members must satisfactorily complete the summer commitment to receive their full scholarship. They must also participate in all evaluation activities, including but not limited to a 1000 word reflection essay paper due after the summer has completed.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a construction coordinator is to facilitate home repair projects performed by our student mission teams. The construction coordinator must be organized, have a basic knowledge of construction (or be willing to learn!), and be an excellent planner. As a part of the home repair ministry team, your service will include:
1) Giving each mission team an overview of the family with whom they’ll be serving, which includes all necessary details concerning the home repair/construction project.
2) Conducting a daily team leaders meeting for coordination of the next day’s events.
3) Planning for projects, purchasing materials, and maintaining construction budgets.
4) Serving as the contact person for home owners and scheduling both staff and mission team visits.
5) Maintaining all tools and materials for the work site.
6) Advising teams on construction questions and possibly working on-site with teams if time allows.
7) Ensuring mission teams have all tools and materials needed for their work throughout the day.
8) All aspects of hosting student teams and participating in or leading worship/discipleship activities
