About HOPE Fellowship Program
With over 200+ participants to date, the Operation HOPE, Inc. (HOPE) Fellows, Interns and Loaned Executive (FILE) Program offers exceptional young men and women the opportunity to acquire skills and build vital social networks that will enhance their career paths and effectiveness as future leaders
HOPE’s Youth Empowerment programs focus on both the award-winning Banking on Our Future Program, as well as the innovative HOPE Business In a Box Academies (HBIABA) program. In addition, HOPE aims to work collaboratively with Casey Family Programs (CFP) to reach HOPE’s America 2020 goals (see https://www.operationhope.org/America2020 for more information) and help further CFP’s Moving Hope Forward initiative (http://www.casey.org/AboutUs/).
The goal of Banking on Our Future is to impart basic financial education to help students envision and grasp the skills needed to make sound financial decisions and take charge of their financial future.
HOPE Business In A Box Academies (HBIABA) is intended to transform a youth’s natural aspiration and state of hope into practical, empowering, and life-changing action steps to starting a business, becoming an entrepreneur or gain the critical job skills necessary for a strong future. In this 2-3 month, program students participate in Banking on Our Future, an entrepreneurship primer course, and then pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. The winning students go on to work with a Business Role Model to refine their business plans and upon completion can win up to $500 in startup funds to launch their business.
CFP’s Moving Hope Forward Initiative relates to HOPE Fellows through two different objectives: Centers of Hope and the “I CAN” University/Community Partnership. The HOPE Fellow will participate in activities directly relating to these CFP objectives in the wider scope of HOPE’s America 2020 goals.
