A Change Generation Independent Living Program provides young adults the opportunity to practice daily living skills and prepare for the future in a semi-supervised apartment setting. Young adults enrolled in the program will share a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1300 sq ft, and fully furnished apartment at no cost to them. Young adults have access to program staff 24 hours/ 7 days a week and services to meet their individualized needs. It is the goal of the program to meet our mission by providing young adults with a supportive living environment, superior case management, therapeutic services, community integration, and living skill development to ensure their successful transition into adulthood. The independent living program is designed to improve the transition into adulthood for youth ages 18-21 who are or who have been in the foster care system. To be successful upon departure from care, each youth will have opportunity to learn skills based on their individual needs. The overall goal of the independent living program is that all former foster youth, regardless of their personal plans, will be prepared to live independently.


업무내용

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Maintain current knowledge of youth development and generate ideas on how to improve existing programs.
•Maintain knowledge of current trends in the non profit field to aid in the expansion of the organization.
• Assist Executive Director with all aspects of programmatic meetings as necessary with scheduling, set up,implementation,breakdown,volunteer assignments,etc.
•Create and manage database of volunteers.
•Manage the resource development process for the organization,which includes generating solicitation letters,tracking,assist with planning events, and generating thank you letters to donors and volunteers.
•Assist with donation requests, which include tracking requests,coordinating delivery or pick up of items, managing inventory and reporting items donated.%
•Attend assigned meetings with program staff and generate meeting reports to the Executive Director.
•Assist with all hosted events.
•All other duties as assigned. Requirements
•Sophomore,Junior,Senior or graduate level students or recent college graduates.
•Social Work,Sociology,Human Services, Education coursework or degrees preferred.
•Proficient computer skills(Word,Powerpoint and Excel required).
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Proven organizational and time management skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills.
•Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments.
•Excellent attention to detail.
•Must have own transportation
•Will be required to complete a background check.


요구사항

Student Eligibility
 Students must be in good academic standing to apply for an internship. A cumulative grade point
average of at least 2.7 is preferred, but the final decision about participation rests with the individual
academic department.
 Typically, students who participate in an internship have junior or senior status; however, certain
departments will make exceptions to this rule in individual cases.
