Left Forum

Left Forum is the largest annual progressive conference in the country. Also engaged in a range of

events throughout the year, the Forum brings together thousands of conference and event

participants to discuss pressing local, national, and global issues; to better understand

commonalities and differences, as well as alternatives to current predicaments; or to share ideas to

help build social movements.

Left Forum seeks to fill a fundraising and development internship. This is a one semester to two

semester (or monthly equivalent) internship and can be scheduled according to the intern’s

academic calendar and requirements.

Assist in the researching and cultivating of funding sources such as donors and online

contributors

 Assist in developing funding campaigns, donor solicitations, and long-term strategies

 Create reports, fundraising data management, attend meetings and develop event plans

 Assist in the researching of venues for special events

Must have a passion for grassroots organizing and social justice

 Experience with constituent management databases preferred

 Applied research, writing, and verbal communication skills

 Strong organizational skills

 A high level of attention to detail

 The ability to see projects through to their completion

 Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle a variety of projects

 Ability to work effectively, both individually and in a team

 Experience in fundraising and donor development
