Farming Intern (농업)
Community Greenhouse Partners
상세설명
Community Greenhouse Partners is a sustainable urban farm that applies ecological design principles and engages community participation to grow wholesome food year-round that is provided at low-cost to the neighborhood, improving personal health while generating training, mentoring and employment opportunities. We are located on 67th and Superior in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, and this will be our fifth growing season.
We are currently looking for interns for our 2015 season starting ASAP but especially starting in April and March. This spring, we will be continuing food production for markets and other sales and also will be starting a spring workshop series. We have a chicken coop, an urban forest garden, raised beds, and multiple hoop houses, as well as a full scale hard shell greenhouse.
We have a number of open internship positions that provide different experiences and require different skill sets. Interns work 20 hours a week and can either be compensated with college credit pending the approval of the institution or with room and partial board. These internships are a great way to get experience working with farms and with non-profit organizations. Interns are given a lot of responsibilities and are expected to take the initiative to complete independent projects on their own.
Internship compensation: Interns can gain college credit though their work here upon approval of the university or college through independent study. If not receiving credit, interns are rewarded with a free room at the CGP house onsite. The house contains water, heat, internet, a public computer, and an equipped kitchen. Interns also receive a partial board subsidy in the form of produce from the farm. Interns interested in receiving both college credit and room/board should mention that in the application; we might be able to negotiate something with your school
